AUTHOR INTERVIEW

What was the first book that made you realize reading means a lot to you?

K: I have loved books since I was a little girl. My grandma used to take me to the bookstore in the mall and let me pick out a book. At that point in my life I chose picture books. I LOVED them. They were hardback books and had such pretty pictures. 😊

My mom used to take me to the library when I was young and I remember checking out Sammy the Seal multiple times.

As I grew older my love for books continued. I discovered The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew in my school library in the 4th grade. In the 7th grade I was an aid in our school library, and one day I discovered Love Comes Softly. I have been hooked on Christian romance ever since. LOL Sorry for the long answer.

I love this answer! I love finding out the origin behind people's love for reading!

What are some of your favorite memories from the library?

K: Oh my goodness that is actually a difficult question because growing up the library was always very utilitarian for me. I went there for a purpose, to do homework, do research, or find a book to read.

The library is a much more fun place now though. When my boys were young I took them to a Lego building workshop. There were prizes for the kids and it was a ton of fun. I also remember doing the summer reading program with them. Every week we would go and turn in their hours. They’d earn a ticket to be dropped into a drawing for a prize of—they got to choose which prizes they wanted to enter for. I have very fond memories of the library with my boys.

Those are the best memories. 💓

Tell me some books that you reread again and again!

K: I haven’t reread a book in quite some time, but the one book I have reread many times is The Princess by Lori Wick. I wish I had the time to read it again, but I have so many books on my kindle waiting to be read.

Confession: I haven't read that book yet. I've heard it's amazing, so it is on the list! (the very, very, very, long list)

What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done in the name of research?

K: I once reached out the CIA or the FBI, I don’t remember which one now, this was over a decade ago. I might have contacted both lol. They suggest a book written by a former agent. I bought the book. The problem is I have one about the FBI and one about the CIA so that’s why I can’t remember. 😊

That is the coolest thing! I would never be able to do that. #chicken
Glad there are brave people out there!

K: Thanks for having me on your blog!

Thank you so much for being here today. It was a blast!
